Capping nozzles are primarily characterized by the compatibility of their number of teeth with the cap. For example, if a 28 mm cap has 120 teeth, the nozzle will be made with 60 teeth, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

Pick and Place nozzles must always have balls or spherical pins to transport the caps to the bottle. Typically, for 26 mm, 28 mm, and 38 mm caps, 6 spherical pins are used, mounted with an O-ring made of specific material for each application.

Pick Off nozzles do not have transport pins or balls. These nozzles have only teeth inside. At the top of the nozzle, a hammer-type cap-aligning system and springs are mounted, with the proper pressure to ensure correct operation.

The cost of reworking a nozzle for refurbishment is higher than the cost of a new part, making the process financially unfeasible.
